The end of the year is approaching and I am starting to realize I have a lot of games I *want* to start and finish ASAP. This year has had some notable releases (despite being a horrible year for those who worked on them), and given that the horrible year for games workers has put me out of work, I have started to dive into those great games. Granted, somehow I am still struggling to find the time to play. 😅
In some bit of a prioritized order, here’s what I am hoping to play and complete by the end of the year:
- Alan Wake: Remastered
- Control
- Alan Wake 2
- Spider-Man 2
- Thirsty Suitors
- Jusant
- Super Mario Bros. Wonder
- Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III
On this list, Alan Wake 2 might be the one game I am absolutely over the moon excited about. I was a huge fan of the original game, but really want to play through Alan Wake: Remastered before starting the new one since I am realizing my memory of the story is fuzzy. That, and I have yet to ever play Control, so I might as well get through that too.
Otherwise, Spider-Man 2 is just gorgeous and a fun game to play. I never played the other recent PS4 / PS5 releases of the game, but am just swinging headfirst into this one. Everything else on this list is also just something I am excited to give a nice play through and score some achievements and trophies for along the way.
Finally, there are also some other games I hope to play at least a little bit of sometime soon. As you might be able to tell, they’re party games:
- The Jackbox Party Pack 10
- Headbangers: Rhythm Royale
- Party Animals
Hopefully I’ll be able to have a virtual game night sometime soon, because these are all really fun looking.
Anyway, that’s my backlog… for now! Hopefully there aren’t any other major releases this year that start to creep their way onto it too… Stay tuned for updates as I progress through it all!
